There rarely a day without crashes in Nigeria 🇳🇬 due to mis used and over use of motorcycles in our country. Quite a number of riders do not understand the rules and regulations guiding riders.

Most of them are unprofessional and they possess no official skill in riding in public because they are not properly trained and certified.

They cause 🎗 various accidents on roads due to over speeding, not obeying traffic laws, over loading and many more.

Though the introduction of motorcycle (OKADA) as a commercial means of transportation was good but became more dangerous to other road users due to their reckless attitudes.

Some States had banned them on major highways and restricted from some important areas.

Government also made it mandatory to wear crash helmets and not to over speed/load the motorcycle with goods or persons.

Some of the ways to prevent/reduce the motorcycle accidents is to enforce the motorcycle riders to wear crash helmets always

1. Never allow over loading

2. Never allow over speeding

3. Service the motorcycle as at when due to avoid breaking down

4. They should make sure all electrical parts are working I. E the headlight, brake light 🏮 , pointer etc.

The Frsc should educate the riders more and VIS to certify if their bikes are road worthy.
